Walkman  = T.V. Eye, The Stooges.

(Walkman is our code for whatever songs outfits remind us of! Just a reminder….happy October!)

The Pretty Gritty turned ONE today! Birthday cake for everyone!

Thanks to everyone we’ve run after to photograph, and all of our followers! The support has been awesome.

We never stop being surprised by unique and innovative Louisville street style. Its been so fun to photograph all you great creative people!

Here’s to another year!

Pretty in pink. Donnasha on E. Broadway Street. Spotted by Amber

Walkman = Super Bass, Nick Minaj

We haven’t posted a vintage Pretty Gritty in a while, so lets take a walk back in time to 194? to the Portland neighborhood. I wonder what you had to do to win the popularity contest? Great variation of dresses, none the less.

Thanks to the UofL Photo Archives

Shades of light. Keri on Baxter Ave. Spotted by Amber

More often than not, people’s street style make us think of song or book titles. We’d like to introduce this as an ongoing addition to each post. For an outfit that inspires a song, we’ll post the song under Walkman (in reference to the portable cd players we used to haul our tunes with), or Dust Jacket (in reference to a book covering). Chime in if you have differing thoughts on what an outfit conjures up in your brain.

Today’s first go around:
