Brushed fur. Union Square, Manhattan, NYC. Spotted by Amber Garvey

This coat reminds me of brush strokes in an impressionist painting. Yesterday I saw the fabulous Impressionism, Fashion and Modernity exhibit at the MET, featuring men’s & women’s clothing seen in paintings by Renoir, Monet, Manet, Baudelaire, and more. These painters were capturing the look of the period in much the same way we do with street photography. A glimpse of a moment, just with a different medium. If you are NYC before May 27th, I highly recommend it!

Back to Louisville tomorrow!

Miss Navajo! Leandra Thomas in Window Rock, AZ.

The Miss Navajo pageant takes place every year. As a leader, Miss Navajo’s role is to be a guide and role model of the Navajo Nation. Some of the requirements of the pageant include speaking Navajo, and butchering a whole sheep, by yourself!

There is a great documentary on Netflix right now about the Miss Navajo pageant! Check it out!
